File repair

Find and Fix: finds broken files and fixes them.

A photo that only shows half, a Word paper that says it's corrupt, a PDF that won't open. Find and Fix checks your folders, finds the damaged files, and repairs the ones that can be repaired - into a new copy, so the original is never lost. It can run Windows' own repair tools for you too.

What it does

Find and Fix features

Pictures

JPG, PNG, and GIF pictures that are cut off, have damaged sections, or junk at the start. A cut-off photo comes back with whatever is left.

Office files and zips

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, zip, and EPUB files with a damaged table of contents or damaged parts - it saves every part that can still be read.

PDFs and videos

PDFs that are cut off or have a damaged index, and MP4 or MOV videos that were cut off while recording.

Disk damage

Files the disk can't fully read - it copies everything that's still readable into a new file.

Your original is safe

Every repair is a new "(fixed)" file next to the broken one, checked again before it's kept. Nothing is deleted.

Fix Windows too

Runs Windows' own repair tools - DISM, SFC, and CHKDSK - in order, and shows you what they found.

Questions

Common questions about Find and Fix

Can it fix every broken file?

No program can. Files that are empty or all zeros have nothing left to save - it tells you so and shows where to look for a backup.

Will it change my files?

Scanning only looks. Fixing makes a new "(fixed)" copy and leaves the broken file alone, unless you ask it to swap them - and then the broken one is kept in a safe folder.

What happens after the trial?

Scanning and the Windows repair tools stay free. A key ($19 one time) lets you keep fixing files.

Does it download my OneDrive?

No. Online-only OneDrive files are skipped.
